Lintel was made specifically for Material Distance at John Hansard Gallery. The work is based on a technical drawing of a small window lintel on the Millbrook Estate, Southampton. The work plays with scale and placement, drawing attention to the specificity of this hidden structural element, crucial to the architectural integrity of the building it belongs to.
