Fence is a schematic depiction of an upturned fence that considers how familiar objects can be made strange when displaced. Based on a photograph taken on a research visit to Belfast prior to the pandemic Fence acknowledges the creative agency found on the street activated not through people through the lens of art – or any kind of sculptural activity or language associated with visual culture – but that informs our world by people who do things and take action in ways that disrupt, or how to add to or subtract from daily life.
