Field Study II, following from Field Study I focuses upon the data recording of plants in various habitats. The work involving the collection and identification of plants growing at a specific time of year in a specific location (in this instance in an uncultivated meadow in the west of Ireland) is structured around the task of collecting and identifying as many indigenous plants as possible until one non-indigenous species is found. Field Study II includes the French translation of the plant names signifying the work’s underlying critique of colonial practices associated with plant cultivation.
