One of a three-part work, Arena Industriale was commissioned for Storie Urbane, Reggio Emilia, Italy. Invited to investigate urban spaces in and around Reggio Emilia to provide a ‘new view of the city and its community’ for the European Photographic week, Lavandino was one of a number of video works shot in and around the Reggio Emilia Steel Works. This short work evokes the archaic environment soon to be silenced and designated as a redundant site of labour.
